In most cases, nobody knows you better than your sibling. No wonder, then, that Bollywood actor John Abraham was able to calmly hand over the project of building his dream home to his brother, Alan, an architect at Abraham John Architects. Alan took on the task of fusing two properties to create the Malibu-style villa with a view, which has come to be described as Mumbai’s villa in the sky.
The renovated home measures a generous 4000 sq. ft. in one of the world’s priciest real estate zones.
The house has more than two sea-facing decks, protected from the harsh tropical sun by its deepset rooms, and oriental, minimalist blinds.
The vertical wooden bands filter the intensity of the sun, while picking up on the rustic, wooden notes peppered all over the house.
The home features sustainable touches throughout its chic confines.
John leans over the table and chairs, made from a single, dead tree that was rescued. The wood was frozen to retain the organic features of the tree.
The centerpiece table sits in one of the entertainment areas, a very important space for the actor.
The actor’s bedroom features a luxurious floating bed, and opens into a serene bathroom.
Unsurprisingly, the home hosts a vast gym, covering about half of the roof.
Apart from the gym, some of the other personalised areas include the space allocated for the actor’s bike, and the special space in the dressing room for his biking gear.
The rooftop hosts a stunning terrace garden deck with sweeping views of the Mumbai shoreline.
Speaking with Asian Paints, on their series, Where the Heart Is, the actor seems supremely content with his gorgeous sea-side villa.
